The death of Karla Elizabeth Hickson of Kingston, NB, occurred April 6, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 49. Born in Saint John, Karla was the daughter of the late Raymond "Bergen" Fox. She is survived by her husband Ken Hickson; daughter Kari Harvey, son Luc Fox, both of Saint John; brother, Chris Fox and two grandsons, Dustin and Brenden. In addition Karla is survived by uncles Gary "Doozer" Fox (Roz), Stephen Fox and Andy Fox (Rossann) and close special lifetime friends, Jean Ann Fox, Lisa Stout and Janice Martin.
Karla was a customer support specialist at Xerox Canada for the past ten years. She was an especially talented and creative person adept at art, videography, photography, crafts of all kinds and recently began quilting. Among her many life passions was gardening and she was happiest when tending her flower gardens covered in dirt from head to toe while producing her spectacular displays each year. A devoted family person, amazing partner and loyal friend Karla's greatest pride was in her children and grandchildren and she was head over heels in love with the big golden retriever Jesse who followed her constantly to help with her latest project.
The funeral will be held 2:00pm, Friday, April 9, 2010 at Reid's Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton. Interment will be in Hampton Rural Cemetery. Memorials to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online memorials and condolences can be made at www.reidsfh.com
