GALLAGHER, Gordon Everett - The death of Gordon E. Gallagher formerly of Westfield Rd., husband of the late Catherine M. (Cronk) Gallagher occurred on April 8, 2010 at the St. John-St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born 1926 in Saint John he was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Everett) Gallagher. Gordon was an Independent Contractor in Saint John for over 40 years; a World War II Veteran, Past Potentate of the Luxor Temple (1990), a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64 and Carleton and Thistle- St. Andrews Curling Clubs. Gordon was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by a step-son Randy Phillips (Doreen) of Austin, TX, one step-daughter Beth Phillips Schœpflin (Chuck both of Austin, TX; three grandchildren Jason Phillips (Cullen) of Chicago, IL, Justin Phillips (Jennifer) and Crystal Phillips both of Austin, TX; six great-grandchildren Kade and Mackenzie Phillips, Aaron and Justine Franklin and Hailey Cowher all of Austin, TX and Daphne Phillips-Sprague of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law Nancy Gallagher of Dartmouth, NS; brother-in-law George McKeil of Toronto, ON; several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents and his wife Catherine, Gordon was predeceased by his brothers Christian and Marston and one sister Claire McKiel.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday April 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m; a Legion Tribute will begin at 7:00 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held on Monday April 12, 2010 at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in Gordon's memory may be made to the Shiner's Hospital for Children, Huntington's Society, the Church of the Resurrection, or donor's choice.
