Frances Cecelia MacDonald, 81, of Dominion passed away peacefully at the QEII Hospital in Halifax, on Thursday, April 8, 2010.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Jane (Farrell) MacKinnon.
She is survived by sons, Jimmy (Josephine), Dartmouth, Sandy (Patricia), Dominion and Billy, Naniamo; daughters, Josita, Conneticut, Patricia (Kenny), Windsor Junction, Lexine (John), Dartmouth; sisters, Sr. Josita, Texas, Theresa and Jessie, Kitchener, Lexy, Sydney, Catherine and Valerie, Glace Bay; brothers, Daniel, Kitchener, Fabian, Glace Bay, Kenny and Danny, BC; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband, Henry MacDonald; daughter, Maria Goretti; sisters, Margaret and Sr. Gorretti; brother, Sander; and son-in-law Kevin O'Brien.
Frances will be sadly missed by her family and friends -especially Charlotte 'Sis' Bennett. She will always be remembered for her love, kindness and generosity for children.
Visitation will be held Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. The Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Rev. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
