The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, April 8, 2010, of John William LaPierre of Summerside and formerly of Halifax, N.S., aged 44 years. John was born on Jan. 28, 1966, in Halifax, N.S., to his late parents Cecil and Evangeline (nee Kendrick) LaPierre. Beloved husband of Charlene (nee Gallant) LaPierre and loving father of Dominique and Desirée. Also lovingly remembered by his father- and mother-in-law, Ernie and June Gallant, brother-in-law Shane (Debbie) Gallant and sister-in-law Tara (Andrew) Gallant and by several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers and sister: Allan (Crystal) of Halifax, Margie Emond of Nepean, Ont., and Cecil Jr. of Halifax. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brothers Wayne and Michael. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Monday, April 12, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's memory to the Prince County Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated.
