Corner Brook, NL, February 1, 1926 - April 11, 2010. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Samuel Pritchett announce his passing on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn two sons: Newton (Lorie), Gillams; and Neil (Tiffany), Ontario. Sisters: Florie Lannon, Ontario; Madge Fitzgerald (Edward), Ontario. Three special grandchildren: Jacob, Katie, and Meghan Pritchett and their mother, Joreen, all from Ontario. One step-grandson: Coby Skiffington, Gillams. Brothers-in-Law: Earl Penney (Irene), Corner Brook; and Willis Penney (Betty), Clarenville. Sisters-in-Law: Margaret Pritchett, North Carolina; Vinie Stanley (Eric), Clarenville; Rowena Humphries, Gambo; Belle Vardy, Clarenville; and Louie Phillips, Burgoynes Cove. Special care-giver: Dee Blake; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is pre-deceased by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth in 2008; his parents Samuel and Rachel; brothers Newton, Kitchener, and Winston; and sister Daphne. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday from the hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 14 at 11 a.m. from Fillatre's Chapel, Rev. Derek Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Children's Wish Foundation or a Charity of One's Choice.
