The Pryor family is very sad to announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother and wife. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 21 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Pastor Dan Haugen will officiate. Betty is survived by her husband of 45 years Glenn, daughter Shelly (Rick) Gurney of Prince Albert, son Greg (Sheri) of Edmonton, AB and two special grandchildren Ryan and Matthew Gurney. She is also survived by her brothers Don (Charlotte) Hartz of Elstow, SK, Gord (Judy) Hartz of Victoria, BC, Ken (Bonnie) Hartz of Bradwell, SK, Stan (Val) Hartz of Saskatoon, SK, Vern (Darlene) Hartz of Saskatoon, SK, her sister Judy (Ray Gottinger) Hartz and sister-in-law Darlene Hartz of Saskatoon, her brother-in-law Ron (Terry) Pryor of St. Catherines, ON, sisters-in-law Doreen (Merv) Morrison of Saskatoon, SK, sister-in-law Linda (Wilbert) Dyck of Biggar, SK. Betty was predeceased by her parents Jake and Edna Hartz, her brother Clifford Hartz and sister Phyllis (Jack) Miller and dear friends Ruth and Willis Cunningham. Betty was born on August 20, 1942 on the farm near Clavet, SK to Jake and Edna Hartz. Betty grew up on the farm and attended school at Meadow Lark School and Elstow School. She, along with her brothers and sisters worked extremely hard on the family farm throughout their childhood. Betty met the love of her life, Glenn Pryor in April 1959 at a community dance. They were married a few years later on August 21, 1964. They began their lives together in Saskatoon and soon after in Yorkton where Glenn worked as a junior accountant. In 1968 they moved to Prince Albert, where Glenn began his career with the Prince Albert Foundry Ltd. Also in 1968 they were blessed with the birth of their first child, a daughter Shelly and then again in 1972 when Greg was born. Together they raised their family in Prince Albert. Betty had a heart of pure gold. She had all the values that a warm, caring mother would have. She always put her family first and thoroughly enjoyed all the events that brought family together. If you were ever a guest at the Pryor household, you were always welcomed and made comfortable. Betty enjoyed having company, playing snakes and ladders and cards with her grandsons. She was the best loser at cards there ever was, maybe she lost on purpose, that's just the way she was. Betty loved shopping with her dear friend Ruth and planning for family events. Betty also looked forward to her winter trips to Hemet, California and visiting with all her friends there. Betty will be missed greatly by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Interment will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Don Moriarty - Funeral Director.
