1923 - 2010 - Alfred Brun, 86 of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe and formerly of Bouctouche has passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, April 17th, 2010 at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Cap-Pelé on October 15th, 1923, he was the son of the late Emery and the late Elise (Landry) Brun. Alfred was a handyman in everything he put his mind to, such as carpentry, craft and so on. He also worked for 26 years with Campbell Soup in Toronto. He will be sadly missed by his wife Hermélia (Collette) Brun of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe, his three children, Lisa LeBlanc (Léo), Bernard Brun both of Bouctouche, Lorna Brun of Sorel Tracy, Qc., his five grandchildren, Marcel, Jacques, Susan, Terry-Ann, Gerald, and six great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his six step-children, Denyse Melanson, Andréa Petitpas, Lucie Connell, Roger Melanson, Yvon Melanson, and Gerald Melanson, thirteen step-grandchildren, eighteen step-great grandchildren, and one step-great great granddaughter. He also leaves five sisters, Laurida Lang (Marcel) of Dieppe, Lorraine Leger of Cap-Pelé, Eva Digby (Wilfred) of Sudbury, ON, Aline Savoie (Adelard) of Toronto, Maria Maillet (Jean-Paul) of Bouctouche, three brothers, Regis of Moncton, Armand (Norma) of Dieppe, Romuald (Dina) of Dieppe and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his 1st wife the late Edna McDonald (1979), three step-children, Alfreda, Gerard, Fidèle, one sister, Léolline and three brothers, Omer, Adérice, and Aimé.
Visitation will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l'église, Bouctouche, on Thursday, April 22nd, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday from 12:30 to 1:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Friday, April 23rd, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In Alfred's memory donations can be made to the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital Foundation.
