Stewart, Floyd Douglas "Stew" - 77 Stewiacke. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on May 4, 2010 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Floyd was born in Truro, the youngest son of the late Daniel Edward and Sarah Jane (Pratt) Stewart. Floyd retired from the Colchester East Hants School Board in 1995 where he spent many enjoyable years. He was a member of St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, past member of the Parish Council, a member of the Brookfield Golf & Country Club, past member of the Truro Fire Brigade, and the Brookfield Elks bowling and hockey leagues. His best times were spent with family, gardening, fishing, following his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, and sharing coffee with his friends at Tim's. To his many grandchildren and one-great granddaughter, he was fondly known as "Gug".
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (McGuire); children, Danny (Lexie), Kathy (Wayne), Sherry (Roger), Patty (John), Kelly (Mark), Alexa (Kerri), Jacqueline (Brent), Terry; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald. No visitation by request. Funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, Shubenacadie, Father Gregory Agyeman officiating. Family flowers only.
