Sofia Ines Perez passed away peacefully on the morning of May 7, 2010 at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home with her family by her side.

Sofia Ines is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Luis, her daughters: Gloria (Gilles) Viaud of Kamloops, Liliana (Kim) Lefevre of Kelowna and her grandchildren: Anna-Maria, Marie-Elena, Celeste, Nicole, Elissa, Adele and Miguel.

She was predeceased by her brothers Hernando and Alberto and her sister Amparo.

She is survived by brothers Alfonso, Guillermo, Enrique and Jaime, and her sister Ana, all living in Colombia.

Born Sofia Ines Amaya Ponce on October 16, 1917, in Medellin, Colombia, she married Luis Perez Botero May 24, 1957. Sofia Ines and Luis immigrated to Canada in 1967 with their two daughters. Her years in Canada were spent mostly in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where she was a loved and respected member of the Hispanic community. The couple retired to Kamloops in 1998. She was an incredible wife, mother and an adored grandmother.

You are invited to join family members for viewing on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Personal Alternative Funeral Services, 177 Tranquille Rd. Prayer Service will be recited at 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Father Derrick Cameron will be celebrating. Sofia Ines will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery following the Mass.
