Bigelow, Percy Joseph - 77, South Branch and formerly of Stewiacke, passed away suddenly on May 10, 2010 at his home. Born in Stewiacke, he was a son of the late Amasa and Mary (Harendarsikova) Bigelow. Percy was an avid gardener who immensely enjoyed the outdoors and yard work. He was a member of the Truro Seniors bowling league, and more recently took up golfing, with great enthusiasm. He served as a member of the artillery during the Korean War. He had been an employee of CN Rail for 37 years, retiring in 1990. A loving, dedicated husband, father and Papa, he will be sadly missed by wife, Sylvia (Andrews); children, Heather (Larry); Paul (Juanita), both of North River; Rhonda (Graydon), Calgary, Alta.; Stephen (Amy), Stewiacke; grandchildren, Joseph, Drew, Callyn, Jenna Mae; brother, John, Alta.; sisters, Helen Bigelow, Stewiacke; Jean McDonald, Wilmington, Mass.; sisters-in-law, Elsie Carroll, Truro; Rosemarie Andrews, Huntsville, Ont.; Dorie Andrews, Stewiacke; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons, Ricky and Douglas. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. in St. Andrews United Church, Stewiacke, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. Following the committal service, friends are welcome to a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or St. Andrews United Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
