AMHERST, NS - Delbert Mills Wilson of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the Late Delbert Mills and Beulah Grace (Brown) Wilson. He was educated in Amherst schools and Kings Collegiate in Windsor, NS, prior to joining his father in the family businesses, Amherst Electric and Auto Supplies and Kaiser Fraser Automobile Dealership. Following his father's death he was employed with Swift Canada Ltd. He returned to the automobile business in the early 60's and later became dealer principal of Tantramar Motors Ltd. until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed his cottage, boating, classic cars, and sports, being an avid Blue Jays and Raptors fan. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Amherst. Delbert was a family man and will be sadly missed by his wife Betty (Moore); a daughter, Cindy (David) Dunnet and grandchildren, Matthew and Caroline, all of Mississauga; a sister, Anne Mae Hunter, Amherst and a niece, Linda Ann Cooper, Amherst. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Maxine and a brother, Ronald Wilson.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst, (902 667 8777) where visitation will be held Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 14, 2010 from Holy Family Parish Roman Catholic Church, Amherst, with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Burial in St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to the Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Association, or a charity of the donor's choice. www.furlongjones.ca
