It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Malcolm B. Gardiner at the Maple Hill Manor, May 12, 2010.
Born in New Waterford Malcie was the son of the late James Gardiner and Veronica (McPherson).
He was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard's in New Waterford. He was employed in the coal mines for over 40 years and enjoyed his work and the many friends he made along the way. He loved animals especially his best buddy Rockey.
Malcie is survived by his wife Anne (McLellan) Gardiner; daughter, Leann Armsworthy (Darrell) Mira; three grandchildren, Darren (Shannon) Ont., Jaclyn, Halifax and James Alberta who he was extremely proud. Also survived by three sisters, Rhodina Ling, Veronica Rigby and Theresa Moore, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, James Gardiner 'buddy'; sisters, Martha, Mary, Annie, Eileen, and Olive.
There will be no visitation at Malcie's request. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday May 17, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church Of St. Leonard's, Mount Carmel Ave., New Waterford with Fr. Douglas MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. A Reception will be held immediately following at the KOC Hall 3226 Plummer Ave., New Waterford all are welcome.
