It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hattie Reid, as she was affectionately known by all, in her 82nd year, at the Bonne Bay Health Care Centre in Norris Pt, on Saturday May 15th, 2010. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, mother in law, aunt, sister, and friend. At the time of her illness and death her family where constantly by her side. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Reid (pre deceased), and dear mother to sixteen children; Richard (Lorna), Simeon (Alice), David (Betty), Laverne Langdon (Russel), Felix (Olive), Llewelyn (Judy), Rita Peddle (Wade), Anthony (Silvana), Susan (predeceased), Delilah Pardy (Eric), Darleen Reid, Ivy Pelley (Calvin), Wanda Hychar (Michael), Audrey Peddle (Jerry), Della Slade (Con), & Aubrey (Kimberly). She was a loving grandmother to thirty-three grandchildren, two "Special surrogate grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She enjoyed a close friendship with her sisters; Mary-Alice Brown, Jessie Caines, Olive McKenzie, Ivy Payne (Buddy), and Nora Knott, brothers; Stanley (Bride), Colin (Linda), and sisters in law; Belinda Hutchings, Irma Hutchings, and Rita Pittman (Roland). She was predeceased by her loving husband; Arthur in 1997, beloved daughter; Susan in 2008, parents; Henry and Blanche Hutchings, parents in law; Samuel and Sarah Reid, sister; Nina and two brothers; Job and Lawrence. She will be sadly missed by all her family and many friends. A Memorial service will be held at 2 pm today, Monday, May 17th, 2010, from The Kingdom of Jehovah's Witnesses, West Link Road, Rocky Hr, N.L. with Mr. Brian Cowx officiating with the burial to follow at a later date.
