1942-2010 - Miramichi - William David Conkie, husband of Carmel Conkie, of the North Napan Road, passed away suddenly at his residence, on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the age of 67. Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., on June 29, 1942, he was the son of the late David and Mary (MacEachern) Conkie. He was an electronic technician by profession and attended St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi. He was a member of the Napan Community Hall Board; a former Director and member of the executive of the Napan Agricultural Show; a Leader with the Napan 4H Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Carmel Dawson; one daughter, Lynn Anderson (Shawn), of Miramichi; one aunt, Florence Jenkins; three uncles, Cyrus, Ben and William Chester MacEachern, all of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; as well as several sisters and brothers in law and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi, on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Father Claude Daigle. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, at 6:45pm.
