Thomas Bailey went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, May 30, 2010. He passed away after a brief illness at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his niece, Valerie, by his side.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late John William and Amelia (Childs) Bailey. He was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary (Norman) MacQueen, Lillian (Stelburne) Gillan, Shirley (Russell) Bradley, all in Sydney Mines and Dianne, Sydney and by many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
He was predeceased by his brothers, George and Cecil Bailey.
At Tommy's request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Trinity Cemetery, Tobin Road, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating.
Donations in Tommy's memory may be made to Trinity Anglican Church or to a charity of choice.
