1916 - 2010
Mrs. Edith Pearl Lang (nee Keyser) passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert at the age of 93 years. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2 from Mont St. Joseph Home - 777-28th Street East. Mr. Eldon Danielson will officiate. Edith was born in Winnipeg to Kate and Fred Keyser, when she was three the family moved to Rosetown. At the age of 17 she moved to Prince Albert. On June 30, 1948 Edith married Laurie in Prince Albert, they then moved to Russelville where they farmed together until retirement. Edith was known for her amazing artwork which family and friends will enjoy for years to come. She was a dedicated homemaker and volunteered numerous hours with the Exhibition Association, 4-H clubs, rural telephone and Homemakers Society. She took great pleasure from her family and many friends. From an early age Edith was never without a pet and enjoyed horses, dogs and cats and had a very special way with them all. Edith is survived by her loving family: her son Jack (Harriet) Lang; her daughter Karen (James) Helm; her grandchildren Amber Lang, Darby (Don) Sovyn, Quinn (Chantelle Reichenberg) Helm, Kaley Helm; her great-granddaughter Katya Sovyn; her sister Edna Paulsen; her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Laurie; her sons Donald and Patrick; her brother Royal Keyser and her sister Violet Keyser. Her family wants to extend a special thank you to the residents and staff of Mont St. Joseph Care Home for making her last two years full and rewarding. In lieu of flowers it is the family's request that donations be made to the Mont St. Joseph Foundation. Interment will take place in the Garden of Christus, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
