KERNOHAN, David "Doc" M.D. - 87, of Parrsboro, Cumberland Co. passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, David came to Canada in 1950 and practiced medicine in Parrsboro until 1993, where he also operated a large farm. David loved the countryside and the people of the area. He is survived by his wife, Mollie; son, Andrew and daughter-in-law, Anne MacLellan; daughter, Ann and granddaughter, Mary. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Kernohan. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday [June 5, 2010] at St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the South Cumberland Community Care Centre Foundation, Parrsboro or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
