Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Monday, June 1, 2010, Una Kitchen, age ninety years, formerly of Bell Island. Predeceased by husband Harold (1993), grandson Wayne Basha (1997), son-in-law Fred Tucker (1997), brothers Roger, Albert, Walter, Raymond and William and sisters Stella, Daphne and Evelyn. Leaving to mourn daughters Margaret Tucker (Murdock James) Mount Pearl, Lillian Basha, Flatrock, Marena Shannahan (Ron), Cape Broyle, with whom she resided for the past seventeen years, son Winston (Carol), Bell Island; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Edna Lahey (Phonse), Krista Riddle (Jamie), Kimberly and David; Derrick Tucker (Cathy) and Taylor; Colin Tucker (Kathy), Drew and Kass; Blair Tucker (Christine), Alisha and Alexis; Wayne Basha, deceased (Cathy), Michael, Matthew and Sarah; Marilyn Stamp (Rick) and Scott; Fred Basha (Doris), Krista and Shawn; Mona Basha and Shane, Perry Basha (Melanie) and Nicholas; Tena Pendergast (Frankie, deceased); Kayla and Stephen; Wanda Kitchen (Wayne Kent); Lynn Tobin (Gerald) and Chelsea; Scott Kitchen (Angela), Jillian and Brooklyn; Paul Shannahan (Carolyn), Martina and Luke; Mark Shannahan (Heather) and Cameron; brother Arthur Blackmore (wife Edna); sisters-in-law: Mina Blackmore and Cecilia Blackmore, all of Cambridge, Ontario and her sister-in-law Nellie Kitchen of Bell Island, special niece Madonna Fleming and her husband Julien, as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to her "at home" caregivers Nellie Jones, Tina O'Brien and Mary Duggan, as well as the staff of 5 South B at the Health Sciences Centre and the staff at St. Patrick's Mercy Home. Resting at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse from 6 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3rd and from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4th, at Barrett's Funeral Home, Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5th from Barrett's Funeral Home Chapel, Mount Pearl, with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road, St. John's.
