Clarke, Darrell Douglas (Doug) It is with profound sadness we announce that our beloved Doug passed away in Red Deer, Alberta on June 2, 2010 at the age of 55 after a brief illness. Born in Lower Onslow on July 16, 1954, Doug was the eldest son of Barbara Clarke, Truro, and the late Darrell Clarke. Doug's early childhood was spent in Lower Onslow. ln 1966 the family moved to the Annapolis Valley where Doug resided and worked until moving to Red Deer in 2007. A kind and gentle soul, Doug will be remembered for his quick wit, his caring manner and his love and dedication to those he held dear. His passion was square dancing, an interest he shared with his loving companion Betty. A whiz at puzzle solving, Doug's other interests included gardening, fishing, crocheting, knitting and cooking. Doug is survived by his companion, Betty Lowery, Red Deer; son David, Hantsport; daughter Melissa (Joe Eisnor), Brooks, Alberta; brothers Robert (Joanne), Waterville; Bruce, Canning; granddaughter, Jersy, Bishopville; nephews Colby, Darcy and Mitch. Cremation has taken place. A private burial service will be held by the family at Lower Onslow Clarke Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Lower Onslow Clarke Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
