Maria Cormier, 82, wife of the late Laurie Cormier of Saint-Antoine passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 17, 2010 following a sudden illness. Born May 16, 1928 in Saint-Antoine, NB, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and Exelda (Gagnon) Williams. She loved spending summers at the cottage and getting together with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her five children: Colombe Cormier, Linda Richard (Léandre), Nancy Bastarache (Léo), Lita Cormier (Ernest "Bébé") and Ron (Brenda). She was a loving mémère to Danielle (Paul), Lionel, Guy (Chantal), Brian (Isabelle), Brenda (Dave), Louise (Eric), Allison (Chris), Pierre (Kelly), Miguel and Samuel; grand-mémère to Patrick, Yannick, Vanessa, Stéphanie, Justin and Sarah; four sisters: Régina Gionet (Blaise), Gérarda "Lyda" Arsenault (late Alfred), Aldéa Lirette (late Émile) and Angèla Robichaud (Normand); four brothers: Irénée (Rita), Uris (Azélie), Gérard (late Lina) and Adélard (Francine); one brother-in-law, Christophe Cormier. Maria will be reunited with her late husband Laurie Cormier. She was also predeceased by two sisters: Cécile Cormier and Lucie Williams as well as one brother, Camille Williams.
By request, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Antoine-l'Ermite R.C. Church in Saint-Antoine on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 7 p.m. In memory of Maria, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
