Julien Cormier, 86, of the Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Saint-André passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born May 22, 1924 in Saint-André, he was the son of the late Edouard and Crésence (Bourque) Cormier. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Down East Plastics. Julien is survived by his three daughters: Julia Cormier (Donald) and Linda Dupuis (Gérald) both of Cap-Pelé, Louise Cormier (Bernie) of Saint-André-LeBlanc; one son Jean (Huguette) of Cocagne; six sisters: Sara Reynolds (Willard) of Moncton, Lydia Landry (Clovis) of Dieppe, Lilianne Bourque (Freddy) of Burlington, ON, Bella Melanson (Guy) of Cap-Pelé, Marie-Louise Cormier (Émile) of Sudbury, ON and Emma Rossy (Ralph) of Amherst, NS; eight grandchildren: Daniel, Marcel, Chris, Gilles, Jasmine, Ricky, Nicolas and Jeffrey; six great grandchildren: Jordan, Jonathan, Joshua, Cody, Megan and Noah, and by many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Anita (Nima) Cormier (2004), one sister Doris and by two brothers: Aristide and Joseph.
Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure at 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment in the parish cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital (oncology) would be appreciated.
