Walter W. Peoples, Jr., a 51-year resident of Richboro, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, Friday, May 15, 2009. He was 79.
Walter was a U.S. army veteran of the Korean War, and a retiree of Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania. Walter loved to travel, was an avid fly fisherman, birder, a nationally ranked cribbage player and loved to sing.
He was the beloved husband for 47 years of the late Phyllis J. Peoples and the devoted father of June Peoples of Lexington, Mass., and Wendy J. Tanaka and her husband Kazuhiro of Sasebo, Japan. He was the loving grandfather of Rose M.E. Lichtenstein, Mitsuki Phyllis and Joanne Eileen Tanaka. He is also survived by his loving companion, Norma Jones of Hatboro; and nephews, John, Richard and Albert.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday, May 19 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Addisville Reformed Church, 945 Second St., Pike, Richboro, Penn. His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St., 7th floor, Department W., New York, N.Y., 10014, or Pine Run Community Fund of Doylestown Hospital, 777 Ferry Rd., Doylestown, Penn., 18901.
