Ronald Horan, 77, passed away suddenly at home in Shediac on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Born July 10, 1932 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edward and Marie (Ouellette) Horan. Ronald was a carman with C.N.R. for 37 years. He was also a Flight cadet with Royal Canadian Air Force and a Captain with the 64th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment with the Canadian Army. He was also past president and member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 33, Shediac and a 3e degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #8431, Pointe du Chêne.
He is survived by his wife Camilla (LeBlanc) Horan of the Villa Providence, Shediac, son Robert of Halifax, NS and daughter Elaine Windsor of Richmond Hill, ON; five sisters Shirley Richard (late Edmond) of Shediac, Bernice Boudreau (Valmont) of Ottawa, ON, Carole Spencer (late Reg) of Okotocks, AB, Ann Richard (Albert) of Shediac River and Connie Webb (Milton) of Dartmouth, NS; four grandchildren: Matthew, Patrick, Cody, Cory and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Dupuis.
Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Pointe du Chêne on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Shediac. Donations in Ronald's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer Society. Cremation entrusted to Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297).
