Ronald Perry

PERRY - RONALD MELVIN JOSEPH
May 27, 1956 ~ July 10, 2010
Ron Perry of Airdrie, AB passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the age of 54 with his wife by his side. Ron was born at home in Upper Cape, New Brunswick on May 27, 1956 to Melvin and Florence Perry. Ron was the youngest of three, and the only son. As a boy, Ron was very involved in the church and sang in the choir. He also loved hockey so much he used old mattress pieces tied onto his legs with a belt, so he could play goalie. Ron moved west as a teenager and worked consistently until settling at AFA Forest Products where he remained for 29 years. Ron was very hardworking, always going above and beyond, whether in work or life. Ron and Pat raised their boys Justin and Josh in Airdrie, AB. Ron was very active in little league and coached when his boys were young. Ron's love of hockey was instilled in his son, at a young age. Ron took Justin to all of his Bantam and Midget games until Justin was old enough to play with Rons teams, the Sunrisers and the Towerlane Maulers. Ron loved watching NHL hockey and followed it passionately. A lot of camping trips and cross Canada trips were enjoyed over the years. Ron's greatest passion, other than fixing cars or anything else, was his love for hockey. Ron was a goalie, playing hockey regularly in Airdrie for over 20 years, playing his last game New Years Eve day. Early weekend mornings, you could always find Ron and Pat checking out yard sales or an auction. Ron's greatest concern was always taking care of his family, which he did, first and foremost. Ron was very well known and respected by all in the community. Leaving to mourn, Ron's loving wife, Pat Perry and son, Justin Perry, step-son, Joshua Archer, two sisters, Mary and Coreen, sisters-in-laws Cindy, Jane and Ronda, all of their families, and his favourite four legged baby girl Pearlie. Ron will be forever loved and missed and will live on in our hearts and memories forever. To email expressions of sympathy: mountainview@arbormemorial.com
