The death of Jessie Wilson, 100, of Minto occurred Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 at the W. G. Bishop Nursing Home. Born in Glasgow, Scotland April 15th, 1910 she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Jessie (Davie) Wilson. She came to Minto in 1920, Jessie worked at the Post Office in North Minto for a number of years and then moved to Moncton where she worked for Eatons and later for the C.N.R. Jessie gave up her career to move back to Minto to care for her mother. She never lost her love of Scotland or all things Scottish. Jessie is survived by a sister-in-law, Muriel Wilson of Saint John and by cousins, Catherine Mills of Minto and Mary Burpee of Douglas Harbour and long time friend, Wayne. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Alexander.
In keeping with Jessie's wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 30th, 2010 at the Wallbridge Cemetery, Minto. For those who wish, donations made to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
