The passing of Ronald "Ronnie" Vincent Harris, husband of Sheila (O'Donnell) Harris of Doaktown, NB, occurred on August 3, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born on February 24, 1940, Ronnie was a son of the late Tennyson and Dora (Doak) Harris. Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors, reading, playing his guitar and spending time at Tim Horton's. He was recently inducted into the Miramichi Country Music Hall of Fame. In addition to his wife of 46 years, Ronnie is survived by two daughters, Loretta Harris and Brenda (Steve) Robinson both of Doaktown; chosen daughter, Mary (Marty) Hunter of Astle; granddaughter, Jenna Harris; a brother, Billy Harris and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ronnie was predeceased by his sister, Marie Veno.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from Miramichi Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. J. A. Treese officiating. Interment will take place in the Doaktown Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the S.P.C.A and would be appreciated by the family.
