Martin: David William
David died suddenly August 14, 2010 at the age of 64 at his home in Empress, Alberta. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia February 7, 1946, the son of Percy and Eunice Martin. He moved out west in 1971, first to Calgary and later to Empress to work on a local farm.
He was a mechanic by trade, having his own mobile repair business. He retired from mechanics in 1990 to open a grocery store.
David was very involved with the local Kiwanis Club, and spent nine years on the Village of Empress Council.
In 2005 he and his wife moved to Richmound, Saskatchewan but had recently moved back to Empress.
David is survived by his wife Paulette; two daughters Dawna and Darlene of Empress; a son Ken (Lynn) of Medicine Hat; granddaughter Brandynn; four sisters Ruth Carol, Sherrill and Sandra of Nova Scotia and Margaret in London, Ontario; and brother Tim in Beaumont, Alberta.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Janet and Linda, and brother Donald.
By request no formal funeral service will be held at this time.
MacLean's Funeral Home of Oyen was in care of arrangements.

    “It is with the deepest sympathy we send our condolence to all of you. Since coming back to Empress Dave joined the Empress Friendship ( senior's) Centre and loved playing cards.He was there Friday night and talked a lot about your family reunion. He asked us to go over on Sat. to get some dulse he had brought back. That was the last time we seen him!



    May the special memories you have of Dave help you through this difficult time!”
