DONALD J. MACDOUGALL

CARD OF THANKS
MacDougall
The family of the late Donald J. 'Stan the Man' MacDougall would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to all friends and relatives for their support and kindness following the loss of a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend of hundreds. We are especially grateful to all who attended Stan's wake and the huge number that filled Sacred Heart Church for his funeral mass. Your presence and remembrances of Stan helped us cope with an immeasurable loss for our entire extended family. Thank you to all who sent gifts of food, flowers, mass cards and sympathy cards, made donations to charity in Stan's name, travelled long distances to attend his wake and funeral, and to those who took the time to telephone or write. We will always remember with gratitude those who cared for Stan at Cape Breton Regional Hospital at various times during his latter years and more recently at home especially Drs. Steven MacDougall and Paul MacDonald, his special home-care workers who became good friends, Sharon Myra and Dayle Boone, and for the loving care provided by Janice Black in Stan's final hours. The family's gratitude also goes to the staff of the VON especially Ann Andrea, the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Mary Muise and staff at Pollett Drug Stores for their kind service and personal favours. We extend our sincere thanks to all who participated in the memorable tribute to Stan especially Fr. Everett MacDow, Stan's cousin and friend, and Anthony O'Connor for conducting the funeral mass. We salute Branch 12 of the Royal Canadian Legion and all Legion members for their moving renditions of the Last Post and Reveille and their sincere farewell. We thank Stan's pall bearers, Paul Andrea, Tyrone Gardiner, Steven MacDougall, Jim MacLean, Jack MacNeil, and Eric Parsons; readers Paula Kennedy-Petley, Dayna Enguehard and Jennifer Frail; B.J. Gallivan, Jody Gentile and Kevin Kennedy for offertory presentations; Eucharistic Ministers Joanne Harrison, Penney Lord and Janice MacDougall; The Sacred Heart Choir led by Shauna Doolan, and Piper Mike Campbell. We are grateful to Rose Conohan for catering the beautiful reception held at Branch 12. We are deeply appreciative for the personal care, professional services and compassion of all associated with Sydney Memorial Chapel especially Wayne and Kollin Weatherbee, Terry Nichols, and Joe Mombourquette. To all of you and those we have not mentioned by name, we express our sincerest thanks for your thoughtfulness, presence, kindness, and support. The MacDougall Family
