On Monday, August 23, 2010, at the age of 90, our Mom, Grama, GG, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family.
Betty's beloved husband of 44 years and best friend Al had passed away in 1989.
Her son Ron Goswell (Carole) and their son Scott, and her daughter Carolyn Gowans (Stan), and their children, Heather McLean (Steve) and Paul Gowans, and grandchildren Laura, Sarah, Kayla, Evan and Lauren are left with saddened hearts but tremendous gratitude for the wonderful times they had with GG.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Rd., on Friday, August 27, from 6-9 p.m. and after 10 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010, until time of service in the chapel at 11 a.m.
A special thank you to Dr. Ed Rose for his constant care and compassion, and to the staff at Valley Stream Manor for the comfort they gave Mom and the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Betty's name to the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre through the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, would be greatly appreciated.
Our grief will gradually be replaced by an abundance of wonderful and enduring memories of Mom.
