It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wayne Simms announce his passing on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at the age of 55 years. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Debbie and his children: Lori Hovey (Greg) and Shelli Hubley (Rob). Wayne will also be greatly missed by his four grandchildren: Matthew, Aaron, Sarah and Carter; by his siblings: Minnie Lollar (Bruce), Eva Cooper (Alex), Bert Simms (Flo) and Lloyd Simms (Christine), as well as his in-laws, Austin White (Blanche), Brenda March (Pat), Jeanette Marche (Kenneth), Lorraine Melanson (Jamie), Paul White (Janet) and Bob White. Wayne will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends, especially Barry and Gwen Lomond. Wayne's generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to all who knew him and Wayne's life would seem too short to many, those who were touched by him understand that the quality of his life far exceeds the number of years in which he lived. Friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Parish, West Street, Stephenville, with Father Maurice O'Quinn officiating. Interment to follow in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. Those who so desire may make memorial donations of flowers or contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society.
