Isabel Lynn (MacVicar) Hall, died on May 29, 2009, near her home in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on September 3, 1959, she was the eldest daughter of Duncan and Christine (MacDermid) MacVicar of Sydney River.
Isabel Lynn is survived by her husband of 21 years, Dr. Steven Hall and their two sons, David Malcolm and Matthew Duncan; sisters, Beth-Anne MacVicar (Ash Jetha) of Toronto, Ont., Sharon MacVicar of Dartmouth and brother, Stanley (Kirsten) MacVicar of Port William. Aunt Isabel will be fondly remembered by niece and nephews, Isabelle, Stephane, Kaj and Braeden.
Isabel, a graduate of Mount St. Vincent University, was passionate about her family, devoting many years home schooling her two precious boys. They meant the world to her. Although residing miles from Cape Breton, she returned to her beloved Cape Dauphin each summer to spend time with her family and large extended family. Isabel Lynn was an active community and church member, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who touched many lives with her love for music, family, animals and life. Isabel had a strong faith in God and our comfort comes from knowing she has gone home to be with the Lord.
Memorial donations can be made to the boys’ educational fund at the Scotia Bank (Charlotte Street branch), Sydney, N.S.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the community for their support during this extremely difficult time.
As cremation has taken place, a celebration of Isabel’s life will be held at a later date.
