It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden death of our beloved mother, a few days short of her 80th birthday, at the Ti-Bons Soins residence in Shediac on Sunday, September 5, 2010.
Proud to say she was born in North Sydney, Cape Breton, September 10, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Annie (MacDonald) Mills.
Monnie was a retired hostess with Cy's Seafood in Moncton who thorougly enjoyed her work as she loved meeting new people.
She will be sadly missed by her five children, Gary McLellan (Yvette), of Yellowknife, Connie McLellan (Richard Lightle), of Airdrie, AB, Karen MacLeod (Michael), of Moncton, Joan Marie Nelson (Laurence), of Yellowknife and Judy Anne Cormier (Michel), of Scoudouc. She was a special G-Mom to her grandchildren, Danielle (Chris), Mathieu (Joline), Isabelle (Stephane), André (Stephanie); as well as to her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Sydney, and Jackson. She is also survived by her half-brother, Harry Chappell (Violet); sisters, Amelia, Anita, Carrie; nieces, nephews; and her special friend, Camille Belliveau.
Monnie dearly missed those who predeceased her, husband Robert (2003), with whom she travelled to Tanzania, East Africa while he was a consultant for three years; her dear daughter, Deborah McLellan-Bourque (1998); her sister, Debbie Forgie; brother, Gordon Mills; and son-in-law, Robert Poirier (1999).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette's Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Shediac, on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
In memory of Monnie, a contribution to the Vestiaire St.-Joseph or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
