  • A Unique Spirit

“Dee and I met at a time that feels like a 'lifetime' ago (1970), through my ex-husband, who had grown up with her in Newfoundland. We became immediate friends. I consider myself blessed to have known her and priveleged to have called her my friend. She was a unique spirit who lived her life with an incredible mix of creativity, compassion, toughness and unparalled bravery. I feel her presence even now and know that she is with the angels and that we will meet again. ”

  • Lifetime 'sister' to Deirdre and lifetime Cousin to Dan

Brenda (husband Vince) LeDrew Keyes on September 10th, 2010

“The LeDrew Family wept in the passing or our special 'sister' Deirdre O'Leary. My parents considered Dee as their daughter...she was so kind to them on every special occasion right up until their deaths.

Dee, a gifted and successful artist, was generous in sending art work, photographs and flowers to my parents each and every birthday, Christmas, Mother's and Father's day.

Deirdre was named as special daughter in each of their obituaries and tributes.

Deirdre O'Leary's magnificent golden presence on this earth was a gift to all friends who knew her.

We were delighted when Dee married our First Cousin Dan MacGillivary ...that made us all truly related.

Dee would opened her long arms and birds, bees and wildlife came to her...and little children loved her quiet ways with them. It is called, having a special presence.

My husband Vince and I sent our sincere sympathy to the entire O'Leary family and to the vast MacGillivary clan and hope all their wounded hearts will heal in time.

Cousin Dan, I pray you will hold onto the good stuff you and Dee shared, for comfort at this time.

Look to the night sky and watch the butterfly...

    Most sincerely,

    Vince and Brenda Keyes
