The death occurred at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, of Alexander "Sandy" Nicholson, of Summerside, and formerly of Searletown and Bedeque, aged 87 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in Searletown, he was the son of the late Daniel and Winnifred Pauline (Murphy) Nicholson. Survived by his sister Grace Jay, Kensington; brother, John (Betty) Nicholson, Searletown; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Christie Nicholson and Annie Matheson; brother, William Nicholson; sister-in-law, Madonna Nicholson; brothers-in-law, Alfred "Spud" Matheson, Roy Paynter and Waverley Jay. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where a private family funeral service will be held. Interment in Searletown Cemetery, Searletown. No visiting hours by personal request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund would be appreciated. Members of the Summerside branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Service of Remembrance, at the funeral home.
