SCHRIVER - Hartford Mullan of Webb, SK passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 2, 2010 on the family farm at the age of 76 years. Hartford was born August 1, 1934 to Mullan and Olive Schriver in Gull Lake Hospital. He attended school at Blessem and Webb schools and married Helen Schwager on September 28, 1963 in Swift Current. Before he was 20, he was working in the oil industry which took him to every province in Canada, except P.E.I. He ended his 40 years in the oilfield with a partnership in Ducharme Oilfield Rentals. In 1990 he retired and returned to the family farmstead where he raised a few cows and thoroughly enjoyed this lifestyle. Hartford was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as the Eagles Club. He especially enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating. Upon retirement he enjoyed keeping the family farm in "A-1" shape and spoiling his small herd of cattle. Hartford was a great storyteller. The content of the tale and vivid way he told them got many laughs and guffaws from his listeners. He leaves to mourn his memory; his loving wife Helen; sons Stuart (Penny) and David (Sandra); grandson Ethan; 2 nieces; a nephew; grandnieces and nephews; cousins and numerous longtime friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his parents Mullan and Olive, older sister Jean, uncle Grant, uncle Cliff and aunt Mary. A private family graveside service was held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from the Webbview Cemetery near Webb, SK Reverend Harold Benjamin officiating.
