We regret to announce the sudden passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Sharon passed away on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, with her loving family at her side.
Born in Baddeck on Feb. 4, 1960, she was the daughter of the late John Malcolm and Mildred (MacRitchie) Ellis, Little Narrows.
Sharon was employed as human resources co-ordinator at Little Narrows Gypsum for the past 18 years, where she forged many life lasting friendships.
She was a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, where she served on the finance committee. She was also a member of the board of directors of the Whycocomagh Co-op and volunteered for many organizations over the years.
She was known for her great sense of humour and was a generous, kind, caring and compassionate individual, who gave to all so freely.
Sharon loved to laugh, loved to give and loved to love "she was the best."
She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 31 years, Johnnie Pearo; her beloved children, Allison (Frank) MacCalder, Jonathan (Nadine) Pearo and the sunshine of her life, granddaughters, Lily Marie and Emma Grace MacCalder. She is also survived by sisters, Glenda (Calvin) Matthews, Murdell (Larry) MacNeil; brother, Ritchie (Sally) Ellis and special sister-in-law, Margie Ellis. Also left to mourn are sisters-in-law, Shirley (Frankie) Chandler, Patsy (Donald) MacDonald, Diane Rouse, Wilma (Ross) Matheson, Melody (Kenny) Ferguson; brothers-in-law, Timmy (Linda) Pearo, Sheldon (Tonya) Pearo; many special nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by brother, Gary, mother and father-in-law, Sam and Peggy Pearo, sister-in-law, Elaine Campbell and brother-in-law, Gordon Rouse.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m., Wednesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held 11 a.m., Thursday in Stewart United Church with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery.
Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
