Judith Rushton

Rushton, Judith Ann - 56, Belnan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the QEII Hospital with her family by her side. Judy was born in Pugwash on September 25, 1954 as the daughter of Stella Corbin and the late Percy Rushton. Judy was very family oriented; her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and meant everything to her. Her hearty laugh and love of life will be remembered most. She had a love of bluegrass music and faithfully attended bluegrass festivals with her husband Terry. Family gatherings spent at the camp and in Collingwood were treasured by Judy. She was an avid outdoor person enjoying any adventure she could with family and friends. She was employed at Sobeys for 17 years and was a hairdresser by trade. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a very special lady who will never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever. She had a great personality and left all of her family and friends with many good memories to cherish. She will be deeply missed by her husband and best friend of 37 years, Terry; sons, Roderick (Tanya), Belnan; Jason (Jennifer), Belnan; Jody (Jessie), Selma; her precious grandchildren, Jordan, Emma, Julia, Abby, Ben, Jack and Julian; brothers, Terry (Joyce), Darren (Lorna), Tim (Crystal), Shaun (Janelle); sisters, Karen (Bob), Wanda (Kevin); several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by granddaughter Grace. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, October 16 in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (447-2930). Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 17 in Oxford Baptist Church. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the QEII V.G. Sunshine Room.
