July 11, 1925 - October 13, 2010. WWII Veteran, Royal Canadian Navy, member of HMCS Cabot, Naval Officers Association and Legion Branch 34 Ferryland. Younger son of Herbert and Edythe Winter. Predeceased by son Christopher 2006 and brother H.H. (Dick). Left with wonderful memories his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Babs) Hill; sons: Philip (Rhona), Mark (Glenda) and Andrew (Penny); daughter-in-law June Troke; sister, Daphne Watson; grandsons: Christian (Lisa), Darroch (Kathy), Timothy (Rebecca), Aaron, Ben, Leslie and Brandon; granddaughter Allison; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Christina and Emily and other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honor.
