The family of Marie Arthémise (Pat) (Landry) Michaud wishes to announce her passing on October 14, 2010 in Saint-Basile, NB. She was born on November 4, 1927 in Bertrand, NB, the daughter of the late Norbert and Geneviève Landry. She married Alphonse Joseph Michaud in 1956. Before her marriage and early into it, she worked for several employers including the Riviera Restaurant and Hayward & Warwick in Saint John, and the Canada Manpower Commission in Newcastle, NB. She has been a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish for over 44 years, and a member of the Catholic Women's League. She was a life member and past Regent of the Valcartier Chapter of the I.O.D.E; and a past member of the Saint John Art Club. She was artistic and creative by nature, as evidenced by her many sewing, knitting, crocheting and painting endeavours over the years. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, and by her chosen children, Paul (Barbara White) of Riverview, NB and Annette (Gary Melanson) of Saint John; and by her beloved grandchildren, Kate, Christine, Michael and Anne Michaud; and Matthew and Benjamin Melanson; and her sister Georgina Butler, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters Jane Rudniski, Louisa Mallet, Roseanne Jaillet, and Céline Vautour and by her brother, Norbert Landry.
She is resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425) with visiting on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Rose of Lima Church on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 10 AM. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
