POULOS, M. Patricia - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Pat Poulos, 75, of Amherst on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 14, 1934 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of Helena (Bastarache) Donnelly, Saint John, NB and the late William Donnelly. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Amherst. Pat enjoyed bowling, reading, sewing, and was an avid supporting fan of Amherst Little League baseball. She cherished the special moments she had with her grandchildren. Pat also loved the company of Daisy the Poodle. Pat had a zest for life and enjoyed a good laugh. She was strong in her fight for life and was an inspiration to family and friends. Pat will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Helena; daughters, Kelly (Wayne) Hurley, Amherst, Roslyn (Bradley) Rowter, Liverpool, NS and Jennifer (Marty Patriquin), Amherst; five grandchildren, Alyson Hurley, Alexis and Parker Rowter, Sophie and Olivia Patriquin; sisters, Mary (Brian) Fitzpatrick and Darlene (Ron) Hayward both of Saint John, NB; brothers, Bill (Barb), Dartmouth, NS, and Jim of Mexico; Barb Donnelly, Moncton, NB; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Pat will now be reunited with her predeceased husband, Bill (Sonny) Poulos who passed away in November 1990. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 63 Church St., Amherst, Father Vernon Driscoll officiated. Reception followed in the Parish hall. A private family Interment was held in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation, or Palliative Care Unit or charity of your choice.
