The death occurred peacefully at her home on Sydney St., Charlottetown, in her 97th year, of Patricia (Lady) Gaudet (nee Gray) on June 19, 2009. Lady was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 20, 1913, to Herbert and Annie Gray. She moved to P.E.I. in 1915 to live with her grandparents, Patrick and Mary Ellen Smith. Left to cherish her with loving memories are her daughters, Pat (John) O’Shea, Judie (Ken) Goulden, Ginny (F.D.) MacDonald, and Denise (Keith) McPhail; and her sons, George (Elaine), Harry (Sandra), Frank (Bunty) and John (Germaine). She will also be sadly missed by her 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and their families; as well as her brothers, Arthur (Eileen), Kenneth (Kay) and sister, Yvonne Hughes, all of Massachusetts. Lady was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Harold Gaudet, in 2003; her grandson, Shawn Gaudet, in 1991; her brothers, Norman, George and Herb; and sisters, Lauretta and Dorothy. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral home until 1:45 Wednesday, then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for the funeral mass at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Dunstan’s Basilica Restoration Fund or the Upper Room Hospitality Ministries.
