Susan Joyce Attis

The death of Susan Joyce Attis, 59, of Toronto, formerly of Moncton, occurred November 25, 2010, at the Humber River Regional Hospital following complications from surgery. Joyce was born in Moncton, and was a 1968 graduate of Moncton High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's University, her Bachelor of Education degree from Dalhousie University and began her career as a teacher in Nova Scotia. In Toronto, Joyce founded The Concerned Kids, a non-profit organization that educates children through interactive puppetry presentations and worked for many years as its Executive Director. She also founded Breast Implant Line of Canada, a National support and self-help group for women who have had silicone gel breast implants. Joycie was pre-deceased by her parents Ben and Leah (Goldman) Attis and her brother Louis Attis, all of Moncton. She is survived by her sister, Audrey Lampert (Irwin) and her brother, Joel Attis, of Moncton, her nieces Mindy Lampert of Toronto and Leah Attis of Boston, and her nephews Jordan Lampert and Leigh Lampert (Darcie Richer), of Toronto; and her great-nephews Max and Sam Lampert, of Toronto.
A graveside service was held, November 28, in Toronto. Shiva is being observed at Joyce's home. Donations in Joyce's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
