It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Gilbert Powers on Dec. 5, 2010, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines, Daniel was the son of the late Frank and Jessie (Cann) Powers.
Daniel was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines. Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his children and grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 36 years, Ann Marie ( Boutilier); daughter, Rose Mary (Jason); sons, Daniel (Jennifer) and Michael; grandchildren, Brittany, Emma and Sommer; sisters, Dorothy, Jessie (Ross), Margaret, Eva (Andy), Donna (Arthur) and Valerie (Brian); brothers, David (Paulette) and Charlie and many nieces and nephews. Daniel will be sadly missed by his two best friends, Keith Gillis and his dog Sailor.
Besides his parents Daniel was predeceased by sister, Rosie, and brother, Cecil.
Visitation for Daniel Powers will be held in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service celebrating his life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating.
Dan will never be forgotten and always loved.
