After a courageous battle with cancer, Darrill passed away on December 22, 2010, at the age of 64, in Unity, Saskatchewan.
Darrill was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on March 17, 1946, to Calvin and Vera Ramsay. Darrill lived at various locations in the Maritimes where he fished with his brothers, coached hockey for kids, raised a family, and became a licensed installer of flooring applications. In the early 1980's he moved to Calgary, Alberta. In 2008, Darrill decided to semi-retire and moved to Unity, Saskatchewan.
Darrill had a zest for life; he enjoyed telling a joke and spending time with his many friends. He also loved animals, country music, dancing and hockey. Darrill was a perfectionist in his profession of flooring installations.
Darrill will be deeply missed by his loving partner, Rita Selensky; his children, Carol, Michael and Doris (N.S.); sisters, Vivian (Ont.) and Ellen (AB); brother, Wendell (Dianne) (N.S.); nieces, nephews, grandchildren and extended families. Darrill was predeceased by his parents and brother, Leigh.
Memorial services were held on December 28, 2010, at the United Church in Unity, Saskatchewan.
A private family interment will be held in Prince Edward Island during the summer of 2011.
