Tomeki Kotani of Kamloops passed away on January 12, 2011, at 87 years of age.

He is survived by his loving wife Sakaye; children Louise (Karl Klingbeil) of Kamloops, Leslie of Kamloops, Carole (Rod) Odland of Taber, Alberta, and Allen (Heidi) of Kamloops; grandchildren Kesley Odland (Lethbridge, AB), Tori Odland (Lethbridge, AB), and Kaden Odland (Taber, AB), and Hana and Jesse Kotani (Kamloops), and his brother Yoshimi of Kamloops.

Predeceased by parents Kumataro and Shima; and brothers Masao, Torao, Tatsuo and Shizuo.

Tomeki was born in Vancouver, B.C. on July 4th, 1923, and graduated high school in June of 1941. In his early years he would spend hours reading in the Public Library. This passion later grew into a love of crossword puzzles, especially the New York Times crosswords. Tomeki moved to Kamloops in September of 1950. It was here that he met Sakaye in 1957 and they were married on December 6, 1958. "Tommy," as he was known to his co-workers, was a logger working throughout the Cariboo and Interior of B.C. until his retirement in 1988.

He was a dedicated and devoted family man always putting his family and others before himself. Grandpa adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment he spent with them.

"We miss you Grandpa"
