Surrounded by his family, Robert "Bob" Lockhart Hutchinson, 81, of Martin's Brook, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Halifax, Bob was a son of the late George and Ida (Hutchinson) Hutchinson. Bob worked with the Irving Oil Company and then for Rocca Real Estate Company, both in Saint John, NB. Later he owned and operated his own Real Estate Company before retiring in 1995 to Martin's Brook. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 23, Lunenburg and an adherent of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. Bob is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughters, Martha (Promise) Sanipe, Ottawa, ON.; Sally Hutchinson (Pat Corkery), Lunenburg; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald, and a sister, Claire.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, and family have requested no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial Service to celebrate Bob's life will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Rev. Michael Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Martin's Brook Cemetery, Martin's Brook.
