Etta Parsons

(June 26, 1937 - January 18, 2011) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother. Etta was born on June 26, 1937, in Oak Point, Kings County, NB to Smith and Olive Ashford. Etta is survived by her husband of 50 years, Max; her children Alma Christensen (Dwayne), Denise McLaughlin (Tim), Malcolm (Shawnda), David (Betty), Tim (Lory) and Tina Pelletier (Gilles); she is also survived by 13 grandchildren Tyler and Stephanie Christensen, Wesley Parsons, Austin, Makayla and Kailan Parsons, Kara, Jessica and Brandon Parsons, Jarret and Mallary Parsons, Jaxon and Dayton Pelletier; her siblings Billy Ashford (Sheila), Jimmy Ashford (Dorothy), Carolann Mahaney (Marvin), Shirley Francis and Stephen Ashford. Predeceased by her parents, grandson Stephen Christensen. Etta was a long time volunteer at the Tobique Valley Manor and one of her proudest moments was being named volunteer of the year. She had a passion for curling, golfing, quilting, crib, bingo and wreath making. Etta was very active worker and supporter of the Progressive Conservative Party.
Resting at White's Chapel, 85 Centennial St. Plaster Rock with visiting hours on Friday, January 21st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at 1 pm from White's Chapel with Rev. Leonard Cousins & Rev. Warren Clapham officiating. Interment in the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery later in the spring. Memorial donations to the Tobique Valley Manor (Activity Department) or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
