It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edward Nelson (Doc) Collins at age 70, on January 17, 2011 in Labrador City, NL, with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Catherine (Cathy) Collins; dear father of John and Katie; loving grandfather of Katie, Brittney and Kyra; brother of Patsey Renondlt, Shirley Chaulk and Jackie Curtis; father-in-law to Heather and Carl Dumont (Katie's boyfriend); his dog Peanut; and many family members and a big circle of his friends. Doc moved to Labrador City, NL in 1962 and worked for 37-1/2 years for IOCC, member of SOAR Party and Lung Cancer Foundation. Doc's favourite activity was socializing and dancing with his beautiful wife Cathy. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and children, also watching movies, reading and walking his favourite dog Peanut. A beautiful wake was held at Penney's Funeral Home January 21 and a Funeral Service was held at Carol United Church, Labrador City on January 22.
