Dianne Josephine Ernst - New Ross, NS. There comes a time to live, to laugh, to love and to rest. The time for Dianne to rest came peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater with her husband at her side after a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary lung disease. Born on March 22, 1948 in New Ross, she was the eldest daughter of Jean (Schofield) Jollymore, Chester Grant and the late Basil Jollymore. Dianne was a devoted wife to her husband, Ron and a loving, caring mother to sons, Michael and Jason. She and her family lived for many years in Hubley Mill Lake before moving to their home on Lewis Lake, New Ross. Dianne worked for the family construction business before retiring for health reasons. Active in her community, she volunteered her time, expertise, crafts and baked goods to many fund raisers and events. Dianne enjoyed doing crafts, especially ceramics, cross country skiing, ice and roller skating. She was a team player for Tantallon Ladies Softball Team and a member of the bowling league. Dianne was a person who cared deeply about family and friends, had a fine sense of humour, loved music and loved to dance. Besides her mother, Dianne will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her husband, Ron; sons, Michael, Mahone Bay and Jason, Tantallon; her daughter-in-law and friend, Penny Ernst, Peggy's Cove and granddaughters, Sydney, Peggy's Cove; Tonilea, Alberta; Natasha, Yarmouth; sisters, Carolyn (Leonard) Fifield, Bedford; Deborah Jollymore-Messom, Kentville; sisters-in-law, Pauline Leopold, Fall River and Sandra (Grant) MacLauglin, Upper Tantallon; brothers-in-law, John (Dora) Ernst, Lower Sackville; Carl (Paulette) Ernst, Upper Tantallon and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was predeceased by an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth and brother-in-law, Granville Leopold. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There was no visitation, by request. A memorial service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2011 in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Frances Boutilier officiated. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in Dianne's memory can be made to the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department.
