It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Albert David Ford announce his passing on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his nephew Greg Parsons (Loretta); great-niece Taylor Parsons, who was with him until the end, John's Beach; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jean Babstock (Carl), Mount Pearl, Barbara Myles (George), Halifax, NS, Isabelle Parsons (Harvey), Benoit's Cove, Harold Stokes (Myra), Newtown, Margaret Gillard (Robert), Portugal Cove-St. Phillips, Vera O'Keefe (Cyril), Ferryland and Lorne Stokes (Sharon), Mount Pearl; daughter Gail Ford and companion Wayne Wheaton, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (nee Stokes), February 27, 2008, parents George and Beatrice Ford, mother and father-in-law May and Hubert Stokes and brother-in-law Chesley Howse. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. from First United Church, Park Street with Rev. Myles Vardy officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
